Shortly after being married, beautiful Beth was diagnosed with Leukemia … sending her and her new husband into a tailspin of emotions. A handful of us are so lucky to have met this amazing couple during their six-month anniversary photo shoot! I mean seriously, look at those gorgeous sparkling eyes!

I absolutely adore this outdoor engagement session with my bride Jasmine!
She wanted outdoor-friendly, smoldering, smokey eye makeup … so instead of the traditional black and grey used to create a smokey eye, I made it daytime-approriate by using taupe, slate grey and a hint of plum. Pair that with carefree, voluminous waves, and you get this this fashionably sassy engagement shoot by Amy Karp Photography!

She’s one of the sweetest, craziest, wildest, most loving people I’ve ever met and lucky for me, she also happens to be one of my very best friends. I incorporated the pink/gold theme into a shimmery, fully lined eye in deep burgundy, lighter pink and gold with glowing skin and bronze cheeks. Her hair is a little haphazard, a little messy, but big, full and loaded with volume.

I LOVE a bride who’s not afraid to go full on drama … and Amy totally rocks this smokey, sultry, smoldering look in a major way! Someone! Cue the confetti, because this lovely girl just sparkles! Courtney’s gorgeous forest-fairy bridals at Grapevine Springs Park and her adorable (totally custom-EVERything) wedding at Event 1013 will make you swoon. Seriously, Courtney & Quinn …. cutest couple award, right here!
I typically am a little skeptical of styling bride’s hair totally down for their wedding day … so many factors are in play to ensure it holds the style. But Courtney’s sleek, romantic, Hollywood-inspired curls are just to die for… and they we just as beautiful at 10am as they were for her exit at midnight! Along with her curls, a soft smokey eye and pretty lashes were on Courtney’s must-have list.

Know what I love? Spur of the moment-ness … pretty models … outdoor photoshoots … White Rock Lake …. BEN Q. PHOTOGRAPHY. Which is why I am so in love with this shoot! We didn’t plan it, it just came together organically, and it is so beautiful and effortless! Ben was on a quest to start working with photo film (rather than digital), so we set out to White Rock Lake with our model (the gorgeous Caressa Carter) to start shooting! Her hair and makeup was so soft, summery and subtle. The no–makeup makeup look, with an emphasis on a punchy, sweet, coral-watermelon colored lip! Enjoy!
