a Bride, a Groom and an Elephant | editorial for Utterly Engaged Volume 2 | Lauren Peele Photography

There are so times I think to myself while working, “Seriously, how did I get this lucky? The day I drove to Cut & Shoot, Texas (yes, an actual town, population 1,098) for an over-the-top yet totally natural and organically gorgeous editorial photo shoot with Lauren Peele Photography, The Southern Table and Without Wax Katy, and Paige the Elephant.

Yes, a real, live, gentle giant elephant named Paige, weighing in at 8500 pounds and 9 feet tall. I’m even more thrilled to announce that this styled shoot was picked up for PRINT by Utterly Engaged Magazine Volume 2, which launches TODAY! WIth a nude eye, crimson lip, soft skin a runway-inspired, twisted low-ponytail, our model delivered the look with perfection. I’ve been dying to share these images and now I finally can! Hopefully you enjoy every magical moment as much as I did!

Caitlin’s outdoor engagement session | Taylor Lord Photography

Gorgeous girl. Beautiful black hair. Defined eyes (and a mid-session lipstick switch from light pink to matte red). So much to love about Caitlin’s look for her and Brandon’s outdoor engagement shoot by magical, film photographer extraordinaire, Taylor Lord Photography. We did a soft, matte smokey eye on this beautiful bride-to-be and a peachy cheek with big, loose waves and a little volume to create her effortlessly chic outdoor engagement session look.

Lauren’s bridal portraits | Canals at Las Colinas | Brandi Burkett Photography

I’ve been dying to do this post! Lauren took her bridal portraits earlier this spring before she hopped on a plane with her fiancé, both their families in tow, and headed for their destination nuptials on Italy’s Amalfi Coast. Jealous? Yeah, me too. But I’m so grateful I was able to do her hair and makeup for her romantic, Tuscan-inspired portrait session at the Canals of Las Colinas with Brandi Burkett Photography. Aside from how gorgeous she is – how freaking amazing is her couture wedding gown by Deborah Powell of White Gown Workroom? Swoon. Cheers to you, sweet Lauren!

Ballerina Beauties | Heather Hawkins Photography | Dallas Youth Ballet

I had the pleasure of working with Brooke & Tatum, two gorgeous, lovely girls, best friends and gracefully talented dancers with the Dallas Youth Ballet at The Dallas Conservatory. They came to me to get hair and makeup ready, then headed to Bows & Arrows next for their fancy floral crown toppers, then off they went with Heather Hawkins Photography, who captured these breathtaking images!

I did a really soft, muted matte palette of dusty pinks, taupes and browns with flushed cheeks and matte lips, then finished them off with detailed braided updos. Enjoy!

Sugar Bee Sweets Baby Gender Reveal with Berrett Photography :: Heidi’s hair + makeup

Let’s be honest. How cute is this gender reveal photo session??

Such a beautiful family! Heidi (owner of Sugar Bee Sweets bakery in Arlington) and Bryan each chewed up a piece of pink and blue bubble gum, blew a bubble and had their daughter Vivian burst a bubble to reveal that they are having another little girl! I was honored and thrilled to do Heidi’s hair and makeup for their family session with Berrett Photography at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens.

I wanted to emphasize Heidi’s gorgeous, sparkly blue eyes with a charcoal eyes shadow and black liner and highlight her gorgeous bone structure with a pop of color on her cheeks. For her hair, I gave her big waves with extra volume a little braid on the side. Enjoy!

Hunter’s wedding day beauty | A/K Photography |Miss Mary’s Place, Longview wedding

I’ve know Hunter for just literally as long as I can remember, having grown up down the street from her when we were little kids. Being a part of her wedding day was less like work and a lot more like a big ole’ east Texas reunion with old friends. I got Hunter and all her bridesmaids makeup-ready at the Cherokee Club overlooking Lake Cherokee before her ceremony and reception at Miss Mary’s Place this spring. She’s as sweet as she is beautiful and her entire group of beer-drinking, boot-wearing, hysterical and gorgeous bridesmaids had me laughing the entire day.

Linda’s anniversary shoot beauty | Tucker Images

My lovely Linda, she’s my dear friend, hairstyling assistant, right-hand gal, road trippin’ weekend warrior and curling, teasing, braiding, poufing and pinning partner in crime. If you’ve had a wedding with Beauty & the Blush this past year, you’ve met her and your bridesmaids likely got their updos from her! A few weeks ago, Linda got her own Beauty & the Blush hair and makeup treatment as she celebrated her one year anniversary with her sweet hubby Adam with this adorable outdoor photoshoot. These images are some of my favorites (by the ever lovely and so talented Tucker Images). She’s an all-natural gal, so we kept her makeup simple, just highlighting her eyes, cheeks and brows and big, easy-going waves in her hair.
