Megan’s wedding day beauty was the epitome of classic elegance and sophisticated glamour. Beautiful skin with sculpted cheeks, nude eyes with a black winged liner, defined brows and a perfect matte berry pout (in my favorite lipstick of all time, MAC Perpetual Flame). A low, polished updo with a deep side part finished off her timeless look.

My friend Sarah is one of those girls that you’re just instantly attracted to. She’s a blonde-hair (platinum these days), blue-eyed, fair-skinned beauty with gorgeous features, legs for days, and a bohemian-chic, free-spirted style all her own (note, her whimsical-chic BHLDN gown). Not to mention her delicate but distinctive European bone structure that I just adore.
So when she told me her vision for her engagement shoot with the vastly talented Margot Landen Photography, I was over the moon! I knew her style would translate into images that were anything but your average, posed engagement shoot.
Wild hair with tight waves and straight ends with tons of carefree volume. Illuminated skin that glistens in the sun. A soft but but striking glow in a warm palette of pink, peach, gold and champagne. Naked, effortless, no-makeup-makeup. 25 AprHappy Friday! Everyone, meet Taylor, one of my fall/winter 2013 brides who was as sweet, wonderful and lovely as she was gorgeous. She has the sparkliest eyes I’ve ever seen (so obviously we totally played those up!) and the thickest hair of all time. Ever. (I think I’ve said that before, but Taylor totally wins the prize). She wanted classic, wedding glamour so I used a smoldering grey palette on the eyes, with a neat, sharp winged liner and matte skin with big curls and the perfect little floral topper. 17 JanSweet Mila came to me wanting understated glamour and an elegant bridal look but most importantly, she wanted to look like herself. We kept her makeup really clean and fresh, adding a pop of color (purple!) on her eyes. We swept her dark silky hair up into a sleek chignon and sent her down the aisle to marry her prince charming. She treated her maid-of-honor to a day of beauty too! Enjoy!
My favorite thing about this image? Mila came to me for an appointment around 8:30AM on her wedding day … and here she is, cake cutting, late night and all, still looking just as flawless as when she left my chair early that morning!
