WED :: Mila’s wedding day beauty with Feather & Twine Photography at Piazza in the Village

17 Jan

Sweet Mila came to me wanting understated glamour and an elegant bridal look but most importantly, she wanted to look like herself. We kept her makeup really clean and fresh, adding a pop of color (purple!) on her eyes. We swept her dark silky hair up into a sleek chignon and sent her down the aisle to marry her prince charming. She treated her maid-of-honor to a day of beauty too! Enjoy!

My favorite thing about this image? Mila came to me for an appointment around 8:30AM on her wedding day … and here she is, cake cutting, late night and all, still looking just as flawless as when she left my chair early that morning!

{Candice} gorgeous glam wedding makeup

12 Mar

Say hello to my beautiful bride, Candice! For her big day  bridal style, Candice wanted flawless, glowing skin, smoldering eyes and pale pink-nude lips, a look inspired by Charlize Theron.

To give her the depth she wanted without going total smokey-eye, I used a soft taupe eyeshadow as the base and layered a sparkling mocha with hints of mauve and raspberry in the crease and corner. Tight black liner and super fierce lashes made her crystal blue eyes look even more intense! A perfectly pink pout was the finishing touch for her glamorous bridal look (she looks like a Barbie, no?)

WED {Claire}

29 May

Claire & Jason said “I Do” in a glamorous ceremony at the beautiful Piazza in the Village on Thursday, April 19, 2012.

Claire’s gorgeous olive complexion looked even more stunning with the airbrush and her dark eyes sparkled with a heavy metallic greige and brown smokey eye. Pair that with  peachy-bronze cheek bones and a nude-mauve lip and she was ready to walk down the aisle!

{Mrs. Claire George}

This wedding was especially meaningful to me because it was my second wedding for this family. Last summer, I was the makeup artist for Claire’s sister-in-law, Jessica {seen at Jessica’s wedding here}.

Meaningful and bittersweet. As a makeup artist, I get to spend the most important, special and celebrated day of a family’s life with them, and because of that, I get to really know a family. Shortly after Claire’s wedding, her wonderfully sweet and loving mom, Patricia, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. I will always remember Mrs. Pena as one of my favorite (and kindest) mother-of-the-bride clients … she just loved her false eyelashes and getting made up! And I had the good fortune of having her in my chair not just once, but twice.
