WED :: Mila’s wedding day beauty with Feather & Twine Photography at Piazza in the Village

Sweet Mila came to me wanting understated glamour and an elegant bridal look but most importantly, she wanted to look like herself. We kept her makeup really clean and fresh, adding a pop of color (purple!) on her eyes. We swept her dark silky hair up into a sleek chignon and sent her down the aisle to marry her prince charming. She treated her maid-of-honor to a day of beauty too! Enjoy!

My favorite thing about this image? Mila came to me for an appointment around 8:30AM on her wedding day … and here she is, cake cutting, late night and all, still looking just as flawless as when she left my chair early that morning!

WED: Marissa’s big day at Omni Fort Worth with Tucker Images :: Haute Hair

For Marissa & Yosi’s gorgeous wedding at the Omni Fort Worth, Beauty & the Blush was booked for a full day of haute hairstyles for the bride and her maids, which made me super excited because usually I’m busy doing makeup the whole time that I don’t get any of the super-fun and creative hair action on weddings days (which is fine because I usually leave that to my curling, poufing, pinning extraordinaire assistant Linda, who totally rocks).

IMG_1699(pp_w920_h667)I absolutely love Marissa’s undone braid-into-side-ponytail goodness that totally balanced her beautiful, feminine, delicate lace gown. Her bridesmaids varied from chignons to ballerina buns and braids all around.

Glam pink makeup | loose deconstructed hair | Featured on Ruffled Blog

One of my favorite things about being a makeup artist/hair stylist in DFW is partnering up with the AMAZING talents in this industry to create crazy-fun, glamorous, totally unique photoshoot inspiration ideas and concepts. And enjoy this special feature on the hair and makeup from the shoot. I incorporated the pink/gold theme into a shimmery, fully lined eye in deep burgundy, lighter pink and gold with glowing skin and bronze cheeks. Her hair is a little haphazard, a little messy, but big, full and loaded with volume.

I typically am a little skeptical of styling bride’s hair totally down for their wedding day … so many factors are in play to ensure it holds the style. But Courtney’s sleek, romantic, Hollywood-inspired curls are just to die for… and they we just as beautiful at 10am as they were for her exit at midnight! Along with her curls, a soft smokey eye and pretty lashes were on Courtney’s must-have list.

Ashley’s simply chic wedding style :: makeup & hair

Ashley is the kind of girl that you look at and think to yourself… “She’s so cool. I wanna be friends with her.” She’s effortlessly chic, down to earth, a little boho, and just about as naturally pretty as it gets. (the kind of girl who can swipe on a little mascara and look drop dead gorgeous, sigh.) And, when she agreed to let me use a more-orange-than-coral lipstick on her for her Big Day, well … that just took it to a whole different level. I should mention that since her wedding, I’ve become totally obsessed (hehe!) with Obsessive Compulsive Lip Tar). I should also mention that while Ashley’s updo was one of my favorite hairstyles I’ve done to date (golden/diamond hair accessory from White Gown Showroom), she also had a mid-reception gown change and hairstyle flip! Her glamorous waves were perfectly topped off with an chic, oversized flower comb!

Warm, natural, golden wedding makeup and romantic hair {Linda}

Meet Linda, friends! One of the sweetest brides I’ve ever worked with! She and I hit it off the moment she walked in the door and created several different looks for her bridals, boudoir session (at Nuvo Room) and her Big Day (at the Filter Building)!

For her consultation, we did a low, loose and twisted, curled, updo on the side.

At her bridals, we took the twists to the back of her head and did a style flip and took it down with beautiful tousled waves for her boudoirs.

Then, on her Big Day, we created more of a softer, low bun! Add lots of natural, soft, romantic volume on top and voila! Makeup for her bridals and boudoir was a light smokey eye and for her wedding day, we went more of  a soft, glowing, golden route. All the looks were gorgeous on her!

Natalie’s Trophy Club Wedding {makeup & hair}

While perusing last year’s Beauty&theBlush schedule, I almost fell out of my chair when I realized I hadn’t blogged my beautiful bride, Natalie, and her gorgeous Trophy Club Country Club wedding! (I mean, let’s be honest, she is shut-the-front-door pretty!)

Lynne’s stunning Houston wedding : dramatic makeup & glamorous updo

Meet Lynne, my sweet Houston bride that’s got a heart of gold and the bone structure of a mythical goddess. I mean, seriously, this Southern belle turned pageant queen could have walked down the aisle sans-makeup and hair a muck and she still would have glowed… but lucky for me, I had the awesome opportunity to spend the day with her in Houston for her big “I Do” to her sweet hubby Cale.

Lynne’s pretty olive skin and dark hair called for smoldering bronzy-brown eyes, an apricot cheek and sun kissed lips. We topped off her classic glam look with a delicate, slightly tousled pompadour undo.
