I’ve been dying to do this post! Lauren took her bridal portraits earlier this spring before she hopped on a plane with her fiancé, both their families in tow, and headed for their destination nuptials on Italy’s Amalfi Coast. Jealous? Yeah, me too. But I’m so grateful I was able to do her hair and makeup for her romantic, Tuscan-inspired portrait session at the Canals of Las Colinas with Brandi Burkett Photography. Aside from how gorgeous she is – how freaking amazing is her couture wedding gown by Deborah Powell of White Gown Workroom? Swoon. Cheers to you, sweet Lauren!
I adore this bride’s classic-cool, city-chic style! Check out her stunning, contemporary gown, dramatic statement accessories and that sassy fur vest at her reception (it was a winter wedding)! Bright eyes, pretty pink lips, and effortless loose waves for Chelsey’s big day. Enjoy these gorgeous images from Anna Routh Photography.
I called Lauren my “princess bride.” One glance at these jaw-dropping photos and you’ll see why.
She’s absolutely stunning! Long blonde locks, curled, pouffed and pinned to perfection, gorgeous skin and beautifully sparkling eyes. Enjoy all of these gorgeous, story-book-perfect images by Tyler Tyndell Photography.
I enjoyed every minute of working with this beautiful bride – from her bridal portrait day at the Rosewood Crescent Hotel to her BIG beautiful day at the Fort Worth Omni Hotel before heading to the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. I am always so thankful when my bride’s allow us the opportunity to provide hair and makeup for their entire group – and Abby’s six bridesmaids, mom and mother-in-law all got a full day of beauty!
Aside from Abby being totally gorgeous, gracious and lovely, she is also the proud of owner of the longest, thickest, most hair I’ve ever had to wrangle into an updo. The result (challenged my creativity a bit) and ended up being one of my favorite bridal updos of all time! Take a moment to enjoy these beautiful images by the ever-lovely, uber-talented Tacy Autem Photography!
Courtney & Ben said “I Do” in a sweet and beautifully intimate ceremony this spring at Gather McKinney. Courtney was a no-makeup kind of gal, so she wanted to keep her look as clean, simple and natural as possible.
So we did just that! Pretty, smooth cream foundation, a little bronze and coral pop on her cheeks, taupe on her eyes and loads of mascara, with a pinky-natural pout and she was ready to go down the aisle. But! Let’s not forget that hair!!! I LOVE when my brides opt for braids! Courtney straightened her naturally corkscrew-curly hair and we did soft, smooth waves and two braids on either side that met in the back for an infinity crown braid. We topped it off from with a few fern leaves (from Bows & Arrows). Her overall look, a little Grecian, a little boho and whole lot of natural, gorgeous, goodness! Stunning images by NBarrett Photography. Enjoy!
I love stylish couples…. and Vicky & Daniel are just that! These recent Dallas transplants are tying the knot in their native Southern California this Spring and are working with the lovely and talented Allen Tsai Photography! Their engagement shoot took place at a few of my favorite places all over town – The Dallas Arboretum, Klyde Warren Park and Nasher Sculpture Center.
Vicky’s makeup is defined but classic and soft in a palette of cool grey and pinks, and I used a 1-inch barrel curling iron to give her shoulder length hair tons of voluminous curls and pinned it up for a side-swept updo. (style note :: the gold & pink gown she is wearing … totally couture! The fabric was imported from France and the gown was hand sewn just for her – so glam!

I am loving these gorgeous engagement photos taken a few weeks ago by the ever-talented and lovely Havi Frost Photography. Thania & Miguel wanted a duel-setting shoot; something sweet and romantic and something urban and city-scape inspired. So Jen Rios Design went to work (with gorgeous floral by Wedfully Yours) in setting up two scenes at the White Rock Lake and downtown Dallas at the Meyerson Symphony Center.
Thani – whose chiseled cheekbones I raved over on Facebook and Instagram that day – (I’m convinced) were put on this earth just for my sculpting enjoyment – wanted flawless skin, dramatic eyes and structured, but not-too-perfect curls for their shoot. Enjoy!
Sweet Mila came to me wanting understated glamour and an elegant bridal look but most importantly, she wanted to look like herself. We kept her makeup really clean and fresh, adding a pop of color (purple!) on her eyes. We swept her dark silky hair up into a sleek chignon and sent her down the aisle to marry her prince charming. She treated her maid-of-honor to a day of beauty too! Enjoy!
My favorite thing about this image? Mila came to me for an appointment around 8:30AM on her wedding day … and here she is, cake cutting, late night and all, still looking just as flawless as when she left my chair early that morning!
Stop. First, can I please just point out this bride’s perfectly porcelain skin, gorgeous black hair and the most ladylike red lip I’ve ever seen a bride pull off? Lauren is the epitome of classic glam and grace. Not to mention these photos were taken by the ever-lovely, dream-to-work-with, wildly-talented Brandi Burkett of Brandi Burkett Photography. It all reminds me of a modern approach to Gone with the Wind, no? That unmistakeable southern charm it just too pretty. Enjoy!
I’ve known this gorgeous gal since we were much younger …. Lauren’s the little sister of one of my very best friends, the mayor’s daughter and the sweetest gem you’ll ever meet. We even grew up on the same street together, (I’ve spent more time of the Dean family back porch than I can account for!) so I was beyond thrilled when she asked me to do her wedding! (insert shameless plug here —–> I also planned her wedding too, through my sister company Life is Pretty, LLC).
